THE FINE PRINT, IN PLAIN WORDS

Terms of service

Effective October 18, 2026

Welcome to Scoops Up San Diego (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By purchasing or using our dog waste removal services (“Services”), you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Services provided

We provide recurring and one-time dog waste removal from residential yards, plus custom service for HOA and commercial shared outdoor areas. Recurring service is available weekly or every other week. Twice-weekly service, homes with five or more dogs, and commercial or HOA properties are quoted individually.

2. Initial and one-time cleanups (residential)

  • Required initial cleanup. Before recurring service begins, an initial cleanup is required. It starts at $60 and may increase with yard size, layout, condition, and the amount of waste accumulated.
  • Deposit. A $60 non-refundable deposit secures your appointment and is applied toward the final cleanup cost.
  • Cancellations. At least 24 hours’ notice is required. If you cancel within 24 hours or we can’t access the yard at the time of service, the deposit is not refunded.
  • Yard access. You don’t need to be home as long as there is access through an exterior gate. Dogs must be kept indoors until a meet-and-greet has been completed. After that, dogs must be secured away from the service area during every visit.
  • Pricing adjustments. Estimates are based on the information in your request. Final pricing may be adjusted on arrival if the accumulation is significantly higher or lower than expected.
  • Waived fee. If the accumulation is only about a week’s worth, we may waive the initial cleanup fee and begin recurring service right away.

3. Customer responsibilities

  • Provide safe, reliable access to the yard on service days: unlocked gates and secured pets.
  • Keep the yard reasonably maintained (grass cut, debris cleared).
  • Tell us about hazards such as aggressive dogs, construction, or unsafe conditions.
  • Keep your household trash can accessible for bagged waste.

4. Service limitations

  • We don’t collect waste inside homes, in individual apartment units, or outside the agreed yard areas.
  • We only remove dog waste. Other debris, trash, and yard waste are excluded.
  • We may reschedule or cancel visits during extreme weather, natural disasters, or unsafe conditions.

5. Scheduling and cancellations

  • Service happens on an assigned regular day. The time of day may vary.
  • You may pause, reschedule, or cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • We may change your regular service day with at least one week’s notice.
  • Visits missed because of locked gates, unsecured pets, or an inaccessible yard are billed as completed service.

6. Holidays and vacations

  • We don’t provide service on Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, or the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
  • If your service day falls on a federal holiday, we’ll let you know, and service resumes on your next scheduled day.
  • We may close for an additional 1–2 weeks per year, with advance notice.
  • Monthly charges still apply during these periods, because waste accumulates and takes extra time to clean up when we return.

7. Fees and payment

  • Your quote sets your rate based on the number of dogs, service frequency, and yard details. Current published rates are on our Pricing page.
  • Recurring service is billed upfront each month with a card on file through Jobber. There’s no long-term contract.
  • One-time and initial cleanups are billed as quoted.
  • Late or failed payments may result in suspension of service.

8. Waste disposal

Unless otherwise agreed, we bag collected waste, double-bagging when needed, and place it in your household trash can.

9. Our make-it-right promise

If we miss a spot, contact us and we’ll come back and make it right at no extra charge.

10. Photos and marketing

We may use photos or videos taken during service visits, including images of yards, dogs, and completed work, on our website, social media, and other marketing. You can opt out at any time by telling us in writing, and we’ll respect reasonable privacy requests.

11. Liability and safety

  • We aren’t liable for damage caused by unsafe yard conditions, aggressive pets, or pre-existing property damage.
  • We make every effort to remove all visible waste, but complete removal can’t be guaranteed in tall grass, leaves, mud, or poor lighting.
  • Any accidental damage caused by our team will be reported to you.
  • You agree to hold Scoops Up San Diego harmless from injuries, damages, or claims arising out of normal service activities.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end service for non-payment, unsafe working conditions, or repeated failure to provide yard access.

13. Refunds

Refunds for prepaid service are issued at our discretion, and only for unused future visits. Completed or attempted visits are non-refundable.

14. Privacy

How we collect, use, and protect your information is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: we don’t sell your personal information, and we take reasonable steps to protect it, but no system is 100% secure.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll notify customers by email and/or on our website. Continuing to use the Services after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree, stop service and let us know in writing.
